Our online application service can provide you with an estimate for moving the electricity supply for your home or business. This includes moving the service termination/meter position and route of the cable. This option applies to underground services only.

Once you have paid for your quotation, our construction co-ordinator will come to see you to plan the work. Following this visit we will plan to have everything in place to complete the work, on the date we agree. You and / or your electrician will need to be on site for the work to be completed. On average this takes around 4 weeks from payment to complete the work if your site is ready.

The cost for each job can vary significantly and your quote will be tailored to your needs. We will always find the cheapest option for you, here are some considerations for the works:
If you have chosen to do your own excavation work, you will need to hire a builder to dig out the trench
You will need an electrician to connect your internal electrics to the new meter position

The quotes we provide are accurate, although during excavation if there is any problems or a blocked route, the cost of works may increase. This is something that we cannot identify before working on the site.

Here are our essential guidelines to getting your site ready
Firstly, if you need to move all your electrical equipment, including the incoming cable, you will need to apply for a quote and this work is chargeable. If you are unsure of the extent of what you need to move, please give our planning team a call and we will be more than happy to talk you through the process. If you only need to move the Electricity Meter, then your supplier may be able to help, please click here to find out your supplier.
As part of the project, we will move your supply and meter, even if this is a Smart meter. However, we are unable to move your consumer unit (RCD/Trip Switches) and we are unable to make alterations to your internal wiring. To do this, your electrician will need to do some work before we arrive and then be present on the day of the move. Don’t worry, our planning team will talk you through the process and requirements for your electrician.
Hire a builder
Whilst most of the work required to move your meter can be completed by us, we recommend completing any excavation work on private land yourself. Whilst we will provide specifications for you to do this yourself, you may be more comfortable passing this information to a local builder or electrician to complete this for you.
