Board members

Our diverse and experienced board members are proud to serve on the Company’s Board of Directors, and always consider the interests of our communities, customers and other stakeholders in all decisions taken to promote the long-term success of SP Electricity North West. Key objectives are to deliver an exemplary, efficient and sustainable service to our customers, and to create value for our shareholders.

In order to achieve this, the Board meets regularly to provide leadership, set strategic direction and objectives and ensure that appropriate financial and other resources are made available to enable the Company to meet those objectives. One meeting is set aside each year to enable the Board to focus on the strategic direction and objectives of the Company in particular. The Board oversees the work of the Audit and Compliance Committee in drawing up and maintaining a framework of controls that assess and manage risks to the business.

Charles Langan

Charles Langan was appointed ScottishPower’s Chief Financial Officer in July 2024, responsible for providing strategic financial leadership of ScottishPower and day-to-day management of the Finance function.  Charles is also responsible for the IT, Security, Procurement and General Services functions.  Since joining ScottishPower in 2005, Charles has held several senior finance positions both in the UK and Spain.

Charles is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and has a degree in Accountancy and Finance from the University of Strathclyde.  Prior to joining ScottishPower, Charles worked at Ernst & Young.

 

Ana T. Lafuente González

Ana T. Lafuente González is the Networks Global Director of Iberdrola, S.A. She is a member of the Boards of Directors of Scottish Power Energy Networks Holdings Limited, Avangrid Networks and I-DE Redes Electricals Inteligentes, S.A.U.

Ana has more than 25 years of experience in the energy networks sector. Having begun her career in consultancy, she has held various management positions since joining Iberdrola in 1995. She has enjoyed responsibilities that have led to significant functional and geographical mobility both nationally and internationally, which has allowed her to experience first-hand the technological evolution of the electricity distribution system.

 

Harold Hutchinson

Harold Hutchinson was born in Belfast and has degrees from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland (M.A. Hons. Economics/French), and University of Oxford (M.Phil. Economics). He spent his early career in academia as a lecturer in economics at St. Andrews University. He was subsequently a top-rated research analyst in the energy and utilities sectors for over 25 years at various investment banks, most recently at Investec Bank plc, where he was a Managing Director in the Listed Client Group and Head of UK Equity Research. Currently, he is a Senior Adviser in Alternative Energy at Investec Bank plc. In addition, he is a Trustee and Director at the Regulatory Policy Institute, Oxford, an educational charity dedicated to the promotion of regulatory and market research for the public benefit.

 

Keith Anderson

Keith Anderson is the Chief Executive Officer for ScottishPower and he also sits on the ScottishPower Board, where he was appointed in February 2012.   Keith has full responsibility for the ScottishPower’s activities in the UK including the £24bn investment plan to 2028 designed to strengthen the position of the company as the Utility of the Future.  Under the previous Government, Keith was a member of the Prime Minister’s Business Council and the UK Investment Council.  Prior to joining ScottishPower, Keith worked with some major financial institutions including The Royal Bank of Scotland and Standard Life, as well as working as a management consultant with Ernst & Young.

 

Tetsuo Onaru

Tetsuo Onaru is employed by the Kansai Electric Power Company Inc. which is an electric utility with its operational area of Kansai region, Japan. He is the General Manager for Asset Management No.3 Group of Global Business Unit in Global EX Division, which covers geographical regions such as North America and Europe. Onaru has more than 20 years’ experience in Kansai’s overseas business across the globe, including investment in IPP, LNG procurement etc. with his main strength in commercial aspects of business. Onaru worked in Kansai’s Jakarta office from 2019 to 2023 as its residential director.

 

Ellen Fraser

Ellen Fraser has over 25 years of experience in the energy sector in both industry and consulting. She has worked across many elements of the value chains of oil, gas and power businesses, and brings experience from industry and consulting via her work with organisations both in the UK and abroad. Ellen is a recognised leader in industry and has led a variety of major transformation programmes across the market.

Stephanie Trubshaw - Chief Operating Officer

Stephanie joined SP Electricity North West in 2008 and has more than 20 years’ experience in customer roles within the utilities industry.

As COO, Stephanie focuses on quality engagement through leadership to deliver great performance for colleagues, customers and stakeholders as we invest in the future of the region.

Stephanie ensures that customers are at the heart of the business by bringing the customer voice to life and driving continuous improvement in all we do.

 

Chris Johns

Chris Johns joined the business as Group CFO (Chief Financial Officer) in May 2023.  Chris is a Chartered Accountant and has previously been CFO of Yorkshire Water, a role he held from June 2020. He has also previously held the roles of Finance Director of both Northumbrian Water Group and Northern Gas Networks.

Andrew Black

Andrew Black is a qualified solicitor, with a degree in Law with Honours from the University of Glasgow and Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Glasgow Graduate School of Law. He qualified with the law firm McGrigors (now part of Pinsent Masons). Andrew is the Legal Director for Regulation at ScottishPower and is also the Secretary to the Scottish Power Limited Audit & Compliance Committeee.
