Workplace Safaris
Safari at our Blackburn training Academy!
Several times a year we throw open the doors of our training Academy to groups of secondary or sixth form college students to give them an insight into the different types of work and careers available at SP Electricity North West.
Students spend half a day at the Academy ‘safariing’ between interactive sessions on our apprenticeships and anything from cybersecurity to innovation. The safari also includes a tour of our workshops and a visit to our external training area, where pupils can learn more about electricity distribution and maybe even see some of our apprentices at work doing their training.
Typically, we can accommodate groups of around 30 pupils who are interested in pursuing STEM subjects and careers. Since the Academy is a working training facility, the number of sessions we can host are limited by the availability of training rooms, so they often book up quickly.

Secondary
We assist in aligning with KS3 curriculum requirements, helping students better understand key links in the curriculum around electricity. Our programme places a significant emphasis on safety and preparing students for future careers by empowering them with the necessary skills and knowledge.
