CoolDown Beta Trial

Do you use air conditioning or a heat pump to cool your home in the summer?

We’re inviting a limited number of households in the North West to take part in CoolDown, an Ofgem-funded innovation project exploring how home cooling could support a more flexible and resilient future for UK energy.

As a thank you for taking part, you’ll have the opportunity to earn £85 in rewards.

How it works

1. Download the equiwatt app
   Set up your account and add your cooling devices. We will invite you to the trial if you live in an eligible postcode.
2. Turn down your cooling when invited
   You’ll receive regular invitations to temporarily reduce your cooling use for a short time during weekday evenings.
3. Earn rewards for taking part
   If you choose to participate, we’ll measure the energy saved and reward you for your contribution.

What can I earn?

• £15 sign-up bonus after your first participation
• £30* for reducing cooling during the trial
• £40 in bonus points for completing short surveys and research activities
