DSO engagement

Mike has worked with electricity networks for over 35 years and has loved every minute. As Head of Customer Engagement for the DSO team Mike is responsible for making sure our customers have all the support and advice they need to adopt low carbon technologies. 

Mike is passionate about clean green energy and new technology and believes it's an exciting time to be in our industry as we all work towards the transition away from fossil fuels.

Paul joined the company in April 2024. He is a skilled energy professional with extensive experience in supply-side management and demand flexibility services with a proven track record in developing flexibility services in national and local markets. Paul’s background is in supply side services consultancy and he is recognised for his ability to engage with major energy users and strategic partners across a range of energy disciplines.

Paul is passionate about supporting the North West’s decarbonisation aspirations and driving innovation and excellence within the UK flexibility space.

Antonella received her MSc degree in electrical engineering from the Polytechnic University of Bari, Italy in 2019 and holds a PhD in power systems from the University of Melbourne, Australia. She has over five years’ experience in modelling as well as industrial research on power systems in Australia and Europe. Her experience covers cross-vector energy system optimisation, electrification of heating and grid integration of LCTs.

Antonella joined our capacity strategy team in July 2024 and works with local authorities to gain a better understanding of their plans. This enables us to forecast future network capacity needs and proactively reinforce our network and release capacity in the right place, at the right time. 

Ivan is a seasoned energy professional with extensive experience in network planning, system engineering and stakeholder engagement. He holds a MSc in sustainable electrical power and has nearly two decades of experience in engineering and managerial roles in the electricity industry. Since joining the capacity strategy team in 2022 he has been instrumental in leading technical engagement with local authorities on local area energy plans (LAEPs), planned developments and technical guidance. His contribution is pivotal in informing future network capacity forecasts, shaping network development plan and DNOA. Ivan is particularly enthusiastic about facilitating the North West’s journey toward net zero, promoting innovation and collaboration in place-based decarbonisation planning.
