Independent Stakeholder Group (ISG)
Independent Stakeholder Group (ISG)
The purpose of the ISG is to provide independent scrutiny of ENWLs performance during the ED2 business plan delivery against commitments made to customers and shape the development and delivery of future plans.
The Independent Stakeholder Group (ISG) provides independent challenge and scrutiny to Electricity North West (ENWL) on behalf of current and future customers and stakeholders.
The group plays a key role in holding the company to account for the delivery of its existing business plan and in shaping the development of its future plans. It reviews performance, provides insight into stakeholder and customer priorities, and advises on the effectiveness of ENWL’s engagement activity and how that engagement informs business decisions.
The ISG is independently chaired and made up of members with expertise in regulation, policy, sustainability, academia, customer engagement and business.
How the ISG Was Established
The ISG replaces Electricity North West’s former Independent Oversight Group (IOG), which was established to provide additional assurance around customer and stakeholder engagement during the RIIO-ED2 price control period and to review performance against business plan commitments.
What the ISG does
In line with Ofgem Guidance the ISG is responsible for:
- Scrutinising the development of ENWL’s RIIO-ED3 business plan, ensuring it reflects customer and stakeholder needs and preferences
- Reviewing ENWL’s performance against commitments made in the RIIO-ED2 business plan
- Advising on the scope and quality of ENWL’s engagement activity
Chaired by Jayesh Parmar, the group operates independently of Electricity North West and is supported by a dedicated secretariat.
