Procurement excellence
We're proud to share that we've been recognised by CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) for Procurement Excellence and have achieved the Procurement Excellence Programme (PEP) ‘standard’ accreditation.
This prestigious recognition comes after a rigorous process over the last 12 months working diligently and presenting evidence of excellence to the CIPS assessor.
Who is our accreditor, CIPS?
CIPS PEP is the only independent, comprehensive, procurement specific assessment of its kind, measuring procurement functions against its world class standards.
PEP is a globally recognised award that demonstrates how well our function is performing while building a competitive edge and driving excellent service delivery. Achieving this accreditation confirms that SP Electricity North West follows good practice across a wide array of procurement dimensions, such as strategy, leadership and processes and systems.
What are the benefits of this accreditation?
-
Assessment and Improvement: The PEP provides a structured framework for organisations to assess their procurement processes, policies, and personnel competencies, helping to identify opportunities for improvement.
-
Global recognition: This accreditation demonstrates our credibility in delivering effective procurement strategies and aligning to global best practice.
-
Enhanced operational control: Organisations that adopt the PEP often experience increased operational control, improved efficiency, and enhanced visibility of procurement functions.
- Continuous learning and development: We will continue to engage in continuous learning, fostering innovation and commitment to the highest standards.

Achieving this accreditation is testimony to the hard work that goes on within the Procurement team. I'm so proud that everyone's efforts have been recognised. Special thanks to the Commercial Assurance team who manage this project. A great result. Chris Johns, Chief Financial Officer
