Gate 2 To Whole Queue
Gate 2 To Whole Queue…
Connections Reform is broken down into two key elements, each of which were covered by their own Change Modification Proposal. The main proposal, CMP434, was for the future enduring process (known as TMO4+) and will cover all future submittals to NESO for transmission consent.
The second proposal, CMP435, was developed to review and restructure the existing contracted pipeline and in effect would be a one-time process. This has become known as Gate 2 To Whole Queue or G2TWQ and is the primary area of focus as we move into implementation of Connections Reform.
Gate 2 To Whole Queue covers all Relevant Generation Schemes that have completed a Transmission Impact Assessment and have received a NESO (or previously a National Grid ESO) connection date but are not connected when the G2TWQ evidence window closes.
This means that you have completed an Appendix G update process or a Project Progression and are includes in an Appendix G summary for the relevant GSP, sitting in either Part 2, Part 3 or Part 4 of the document.
IF YOUR PROJECT PROGRESSION WAS NOT SUBMITTED TO NESO BEFORE THE PAUSE (29th JANUARY 2025) YOU WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR G2TWQ.
Queue Formation Outcome
Following conclusion of NESOs queue formation assessment, we are now in receipt of statuses for all submitted projects. These outcomes will designate each technology stage in your project as:
- Gate 1
- Gate 2 (Phase 1)
- Gate 2 (Phase 2)
We will be notifying all small and medium customers of their outcomes shortly, and anticipate that all notices will be issued by no later than close of business on 9th December 2025.
Please note that if you are a large embedded customer, your notification will come directly from NESO.
These are only notification updates as to your project status and they are not formal offers / variations, which will follow in the new year.
