We’re replacing aging oil-filled 33,000-volt electricity cables between Belfield and Gale substations in Rochdale and Littleborough with modern, solid aluminium cables. This upgrade will improve reliability and reduce environmental risks.
The existing cables pose a risk of oil leakage near watercourses. This project supports our commitment to removing oil-filled assets from the network by 2040 and ensures secure interconnection between substations.
The project is being delivered by SP Electricity North West, with our trusted partners:
Network Plus as appointed contractor
