Governance and Sustainability System

The corporate governance system of SP Electricity North West is known as the SP ENW Governance and Sustainability System. It is approved by the Board of Directors of North West Electricity Networks (UK) Limited and adopted by its subsidiary companies.

The SP ENW Governance and Sustainability System is updated from time to time in accordance with the ScottishPower group’s decision-making policies and procedures, including to reflect relevant updates made to the policies, strategies and general guidelines of the ScottishPower group’s ultimate shareholder Iberdrola, S.A (Iberdrola Governance and Sustainability System)

The following is a general explanation as to how the SP ENW Governance and Sustainability System is structured in practice.

The Driving Ideas of the Governance and Sustainability System and the Introduction to the Governance and Sustainability System are designed to be a preamble which describes the origin and driving ideas behind the SP ENW Governance Sustainability System and its constituent policy documents. The format of the SP ENW Governance and Sustainability System is principally modelled on the Governance and Sustainability System of its ultimate shareholder Iberdrola, S.A., and is formally divided between four ‘Books’, being the Introductory Book, Book One – Articles of Association and Corporate Organisation, Book Two – Corporate Policies and Book Three – Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance.
