Gate 2 To Whole Queue

Gate 2 To Whole Queue

Gate 2 To Whole Queue…

Connections Reform is broken down into two key elements, each of which were covered by their own Change Modification Proposal.  The main proposal, CMP434, was for the future enduring process (known as TMO4+) and will cover all future submittals to NESO for transmission consent.

The second proposal, CMP435, was developed to review and restructure the existing contracted pipeline and in effect would be a one-time process.  This has become known as Gate 2 To Whole Queue or G2TWQ and is the primary area of focus as we move into implementation of Connections Reform.

Gate 2 To Whole Queue covers all Relevant Generation Schemes that have completed a Transmission Impact Assessment and have received a NESO (or previously a National Grid ESO) connection date but are not connected when the G2TWQ evidence window closes.

In ENWL this means that you have completed an Appendix G update process or a Project Progression and are includes in an Appendix G summary for the relevant GSP, sitting in either Part 2, Part 3 or Part 4 of the document.

IF YOUR PROJECT PROGRESSION WAS NOT SUBMITTED TO NESO BEFORE THE PAUSE (29th JANUARY 2025) YOU WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR G2TWQ.

ALL SCHEMES THAT ARE NOT CONNECTED WILL NEED TO APPLY THROUGH THE G2TWQ PROCESS IF THEY WISH TO MAINTAIN THEIR CONNECTION DATE.

To apply through the G2TWQ process you will need to submit a Readiness Declaration and associated evidence documents to the relevant party.

FOR SMALL & MEDIUM RELEVANT EMBEDDED GENERATION APPLICATIONS WILL BE MADE TO THE DNO

FOR LARGE EMBEDDED GENERATION APPLICATIONS WILL BE MADE DIRECTLY TO NESO

The G2TWQ process is a gated process (like TMO4+) and will require schemes to apply based on passing two criteria.
