Diversity and inclusion

Diversity and inclusion

At Electricity North West, our people are our most important asset so we’re passionate about creating a great place to work where we can all be ourselves, reach our full potential and build long-lasting careers. We’re striving to increase diversity of thought and talent in our people and to recruit a highly skilled workforce that’s representative of the communities we serve. For us, embracing our differences is what makes us stronger.

Our workforce faces the exciting and challenging prospect of leading the North West to net zero. To succeed, we need to access the full range of talent and skills available in our communities.

Our diversity and inclusion journey is one of continuous improvement and we’re always looking for new ways and ideas to continue to make this a great place to work.

Our strategy

We've developed our diversity and inclusion strategy following engagement with key stakeholders to understand their differing needs and requirements. Our stakeholder groups include our colleagues, trade unions, other distribution network operators, our customer engagement group and the Energy Networks Association diversity and inclusion panel. Our strategy will drive continuous improvement in our culture and behaviours and outlines a number of key initiatives.
