storm boelo
We're responding to Storm Boelo, but strong winds have meant it’s been unsafe for our teams to climb and repair overhead lines. We have set the expected restoration time to 6pm tomorrow (Tuesday 27 October). This is following customer feedback on wanting to know the 'worst case scenario'. As soon as conditions allow engineers to climb, they will be repairing the network as quickly and safely as possible and restoration times will be updated.
Our teams continue to make good progress restoring power following the damage caused by Storm Boelo. Around 4,500 customers remain without electricity, mainly in Cumbria, after more than 100 sites across our network were damaged by fallen trees, branches and debris.
We've already made over 7,500 proactive calls to customers and have worked with local partners to provide hot meals, drinks and warm spaces in affected communities.
Thank you to everyone who has shared photos and information about damage in their area. Your support is helping our teams restore supplies safely and as quickly as possible.
If you have any concerns or require additional support call us for free on 105 but lines are very busy. You may find the information you need on our live powercut checker or Extra Care pages.
