Damien Coyle - Innovation technical engineer

Damien joined United Utilities (subsequently Electricity North West) as part of the graduate engineer scheme in 2008. He has a BEng in electrical and electronic engineering from Liverpool John Moores University. Damien has spent placements in all areas of the business as part of his development and has spent the last four years in operations as a response engineer working on the low and high voltage networks.


Kevin Hoban - Smart Street project manager

Kevin has over 27 years experience working in the electricity supply industry. He has held roles managing industrial and engineering teams throughout the business and is also a field control senior authorised engineer. Kevin has extensive experience of project managing large construction schemes as well as a proven track record of fault management. 

Kevin is responsible for the day-to-day management of Smart Street including successful delivery of Smart Street outcomes and ensuring progress is communicated to our stakeholders.

Ben Ingham - Innovation engineer

Ben graduated from UMIST in 2006 and joined Schneider Electric as a bid manager in their project team, tendering for projects ranging from replacement switchgear for United Utilities pumping stations through to parts of the Great Ormond St Hospital refurbishment. After three years he joined United Utilities (subsequently Electricity North West) in the system management team where he spent six years working as a 132kV outage planning engineer and a 33kV authorised control engineer. Ben joined the innovation team in April 2015.

Tracey Kennelly - Innovation customer delivery lead

Tracey joined Norweb (subsequently Electricity North West) in 1988 and has over 27 years experience in the electricity supply and distribution industries. She has held various roles in operational environments and is a specialist in customer engagement.

Tracey has been part of the innovation team for two years and is responsible for developing customer strategies and managing customer enquiries linked to our innovation projects. She is responsible for project managing some of our smaller NIA projects and plays a pivotal role in customer and stakeholder engagement activities for our flagship innovation projects.

Kate Quigley - Innovation customer delivery manager

Kate has over 30 years experience in the electricity supply industry and has held roles in HR, operational management, customer service and project management. She has managed teams of over 100 employees and has a proven track record in establishing customer operations strategies and delivering against regulatory customer service standards.

Kate is leading the customer and stakeholder engagement activities for our key innovation projects. This includes all customer campaigns and surveys that are to key to communicating project concepts and assessing customer perceptions of impacts.
