Community safety activities

We promote our electricity safety message in a variety of ways, including:

  • face to face events
  • engagement with organisations
  • in the media.

We also develop interactive resources to appeal to young people such as our 'Flashover' safety game.

Electrical health and safety days

Our health and safety days are a means of meeting large numbers of people who work near electricty and the electricity distribution system, for example scaffolders, roofers or general construction workers.

Safety with electricty events are often organised by Construction Safety Groups or the Health & Safety Executive.

We host stands at these event giviung us the opportunity to distribute our safety packs and answer questions.

Flashover safety game

Our 'Flashover' safety game for children has been promoted by the Grid for Learning Centre.

In addition to the 1,750 schools that have received our Flashover training tool, a further 450 schools have utilised the online version.
