Community Safety Activities

We promote our electricity safety message in a variety of ways; by face to face events, engagement with organisations and in the media. We also develop interactive resources to appeal to young people such as our “Flashover” safety game.

Our safety and health days are a means of meeting large numbers of people who may work in proximity to the electricity distribution system. These events are often organised by Construction Safety Groups or the Health & Safety Executive. They may be targeted at particular groups for example scaffolders, roofers or general construction workers as at the annual Haydock Park Safety and Health Days. We host a stand at this event which gives us the opportunity to distribute our safety packs and answer questions.

Our Flashover safety game for children has been promoted by the Grid for Learning Centre. In addition to the 1,750 schools that have received our Flashover training tool, a further 450 schools have utilised the online version.
