Unmetered

Electricity North West provide unmetered connections (i.e. streetlights, advertising units, CCTV cameras) for a range of customers. If you require an unmetered connection, please read the guidance notes below and submit an application.

  • How to apply

    You may require a new unmetered connection if, for example, you are building a new development with street furniture or erecting a new billboard and require lighting.If you need a new unmetered connection/disconnection, please follow the steps below:

    1. If you require an unmetered connection, you can apply online now or follow the steps below.

    2. Download an application form and save to your desktop, complete and email us (Files under 8MG only) or post to Energy Solutions, Electricity North West, Frederick Road, Salford, M6 6QH.

    3. Once you have applied for a connection, we will process your application within 25 working days and make sure all the information we have received is complete. (Please ensure the site specification is correct and that you install red ducting as per the quotation pack that will be posted to you.)

    4. Following an acceptance of a quotation (to see how your quotation will be broken down click here) and confirmation that your site is ready, we will connect your street furniture as agreed within 35 working days.

  • Rent a jointer

    Our ‘Rent a Jointer’ scheme has been designed for those who would prefer to carry out all excavation, backfill and reinstatement, using their own suitably qualified contractor.

    We will only provide a jointer (on a daily rate for a fixed contract period) to complete your connection. If you would like to explore this option, please email us or call 0800 195 4141.

  • Tripartite agreement

    Our tripartite agreement enables a Local Authority to use a third party Independent Connections Provider to carry out their disconnections and transfers.

  • Local authority

    Due to the regular volume of work requests for unmetered connections, submitted by local authorities, you do not need to apply for a quotation. Local authorities should send a purchase order and fill in the attached form.

    For all orders less than 100 columns, we guarantee that we will complete all works within 35 days of the site being ready.

  • Guaranteed standards of performance

    We aim to provide an efficient service and value for money for all of our customers, in line with the Guaranteed Standards of Performance, as set by our regulator Ofgem.
