05/04/12: Power to homes restored following heavy snow

Electricity North West engineers have restored power to the vast majority of customers who were affected by severe weather on Wednesday.

An engineer restores power at WoodheadEngineers have been working throughout the day to restore supplies to homes and business affected by heavy snowfall and are on track to restore all customers later this evening.

Power supplies to up to 4,500 customers were affected by the weather with road closures hampering restoration efforts. Fairer weather on Thursday has enabled Electricity North West to make excellent progress with repairs.

The final areas to be restored include areas of Buxton and Oldham.

We would like to thank customers for their patience today and would ask them to bear with us while the repair work is completed.
