Deferred

Defined benefit pensions

If you have left the pension scheme, you will have deferred benefits with us.  These will be payable at your normal pension age based on service and pensionable salary at your date of leaving the Company.

How do I .....

  • Start taking my pension?
Contact us three months before retirement and we will send the appropriate form for you to fill in and return to EPAL
  • Change my personal details?
If you want to inform us of a change of address, change of marital status or the birth of a dependant child, please follow the link to download a copy of the form
  • Find out the current value of my benefits?
    Contact us for an update.
  • Transfer my benefits to another scheme?
You have the option to transfer your benefits to an approved occupational pension scheme, a personal pension plan or a buy-out policy.  You may wish to seek advice on this from an independent financial adviser.

You will be given a statement of the ‘guaranteed cash equivalent’, quoting the transfer value and giving you instructions on how to proceed.  If you wish to proceed with the transfer you must reply before the quotation expires.

If you are interested in transferring your benefits or in obtaining a transfer value quotation contact the pensions team.
