Electricity Connections
Electricity North West is responsible for the statutory provision of electricity connections in the North West of England. If you require a new electricity connection to your property, connect additional load to an existing connection, move an existing service position or re-connect a supply, we can arrange any of these services for you, provided your requirements are within our area of operation.
What is required?
In addition to the minimum amount of information you need to provide, you will need to inform us of any unusual or disruptive loads that you will be installing. Disruptive loads are such things as motors, welding equipment or non linear loads.
All applications must be accompanied by a location and site layout plan. The location plan identifies where the premise/site is, suitable location plans could be provided from a street atlas or map. The site layout plan provides more details on how the site is laid out. It must be at a recognisable scale, show the site boundaries, adjacent highways and footpaths, any unusual features such as land drains, streams, etc, and where applicable a detailed building plan showing the internal/ external meter positions and the preferred cable entry point.
Who does what?
Step 1 - Please complete the application form and return to us with the site location and layout plans.
Step 2 - We will register the project and arrange a quote to be sent out for the work required. If the information we require is missing we will contact you. (Please remember that we require all the relevant information from you to provide a quote).
Step 3 - If you wish to accept our quotation please send the signed acceptance form, together with the payment and date you wish your supply to be energised.
Step 4 - We will then process the acceptance and issue you with a date for starting your works.
Step 5 - Following commencement of works we will advise an anticipated energisation date. You should then contact your nominated electricity supplier to arrange for the meter(s) to be fitted after the energisation date.
